ইস্পাহানি গ্রুপের ২টি চা-বাগান শ্রমিক ও পরিবেশবান্ধব কর্মপরিবেশ নিশ্চিতের স্বীকৃতি হিসেবে ২০২৫ সালের গ্রিন ফ্যাক্টরি অ্যাওয়ার্ডে ভূষিত হয়েছে। এবারের ‘গ্রিন ফ্যাক্টরি অ্যাওয়ার্ড-২০২৫’ এ চা-ক্যাটাগরিতে দুটি পুরস্কারের দুটিই অর্জন করেছে ইস্পাহানি গ্রুপের মালিকানাধীন চা-বাগান- ‘মির্জাপুর চা বাগান’ ও ‘জেরিন চা বাগান’।

শ্রম ও কর্মসংস্থান বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয় এবং শিল্প-মন্ত্রণালয়ের অধীনস্থ কলকারখানা ও প্রতিষ্ঠান পরিদর্শন অধিদপ্তরের যৌথ উদ্যোগে দেশীয় ১৬টি খাতের ৩০টি কারখানা/প্রতিষ্ঠানকে ‘গ্রিন ফ্যাক্টরি অ্যাওয়ার্ড-২০২৫’ প্রদান করা হয়।

এ উপলক্ষে মঙ্গলবার রাজধানী ঢাকার ওসমানী স্মৃতি মিলনায়তন কেন্দ্রে একটি অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়।

অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন শ্রম ও কর্মসংস্থান মন্ত্রণালয় এবং নৌপরিবহন মন্ত্রণালয়ের মাননীয় উপদেষ্টা ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল (অবঃ) ড. এম সাখাওয়াত হোসেন এবং বিশেষ অথিতি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন শিল্প মন্ত্রণালয় এবং গৃহায়ন ও গণপূর্ত মন্ত্রণালয়ের উপদেষ্টা আদিলুর রহমান খান।

প্রধান অতিথি ও বিশেষ অতিথির হাত থেকে পুরস্কার দুটি গ্রহণ করেন ইস্পাহানি গ্রুপের পরিচালক মির্জা আহমেদ ইস্পাহানি।

এছাড়া ইস্পাহানির পক্ষ থেকে অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ইস্পাহানি টি-এস্টেট এর জি-এম, এ কে এম মাইনুল আহসান, জেরিন চা-বাগানের উপ-মহাব্যবস্থাপক, সেলিম রেজা এবং মির্জাপুর চা-বাগানের ব্যবস্থাপক সাইদুজ্জামান।

উল্লেখ্য, ইতোপূর্বেও ইস্পাহানি গ্রুপের তিনটি চা-বাগান ‘গাজীপুর’, ‘জেরিন’ ও ‘নেপচুন’ ‘গ্রিন ফ্যাক্টরি অ্যাওয়ার্ড-২০২৩’ এর পুরস্কারে পুরস্কৃত হয়েছিল। এবারের অ্যাওয়ার্ড প্রাপ্তি শ্রম বান্ধব, নিরাপদ ও শোভন কর্মপরিবেশ নিশ্চিতে ইস্পাহানি গ্রুপের দৃঢ় অঙ্গীকার ও ধারাবাহিক প্রচেষ্টার আরেকটি স্বীকৃতি।

Blender's Choice – The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards 2024 is back, ready to honour the talents of Bangladesh's dynamic digital entertainment landscape. Presented by Ispahani and The Daily Star, this year's edition features an expanded and more inclusive lineup of 29 categories, reflecting the growing diversity of content across OTT and digital platforms. Nominations have officially opened today and will remain open until July 20.

A press conference announcing the event was also held today. Omar Hannan, General Manager, Marketing atIspahani Tea Ltd, Mediacom Ltd CEO Ajoy Kumar Kundu, and Imran Kadir, Head of Marketing at The Daily Star, spearheaded the event. Adding to the excitement, TikTok returns as the entertainment partner.

Celebrities including Azmeri Haque Badhan, Rafiath Rashid Mithila, Yash Rohan, Sharif Siraj, Aditi Rahman Dola, Sarika Sabah, Partho Sheikh, Jahid Nirob, Debosrie Antara, Parsha  Mahjabeen Purnee, Masha Islam, Rizvi Rizu, and Saad Salmi Naovi were present at the event.

The award categories include: 9 Popular Choice Awards in Film, Drama, and Series; 4 music categories recognising originality and impact; 12 jury-selected awards for critical and industry acclaim; 3 content creator awards; and 1 People's Choice Award, voted entirely by the audience.

Tajdin Hassan, Chief Business Officer at The Daily Star, stated: "These awards celebrate the bold and brilliant minds reshaping Bangladeshi entertainment. We're not just awarding talent — we're championing a movement."

Echoing this, Omar Hannan added, "We're proud to support platforms that drive the cultural narrative of Bangladesh forward."

Umais Naveed from TikTok noted, "This partnership reflects our commitment to spotlighting Bangladesh's most innovative digital voices and amplifying their reach."

"OTT has made a significant impact on our entertainment industry. Many actors, especially character artistes, struggled to find work in television due to low budgets," shared Azmeri Haque. "OTT platforms have opened up opportunities for a wider range of roles and given visibility to talented actors who were previously sidelined. As an actor, I see this as a positive shift. Directors now have more creative freedom to explore diverse stories, which has brought a refreshing change to our industry."
 

Rafiath Rashid Mithila also weighed in, "Traditionally, most stories are told from a male perspective, and women's participation in directing has remained limited. But OTT has changed that. We're seeing more female-centric narratives told from a woman's point of view, which is crucial," she maintained. "Genres like thrillers and dramas are now exploring these stories in more depth. In 'Myself Allen Swapan', while the plot centres around Allen Swapan, the character Shaila plays a vital role in driving the narrative."
 

Popular musician Jahid Nirob expressed his excitement about the awards' inclusion of music categories, "This is a really exciting time for musicians in Bangladesh. The introduction of a category for digital music releases in The Blender's Choice – The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards is a big encouragement. It gives recognition to artistes like us who work behind the scenes—whether it's composing background scores or releasing fewer songs. The Ispahani Group’s “Mirzapore Tea Garden” on Wednesday won the “National Tea Award” for its contributions to workers' welfare. Additionally, Jasmine Akhter, a tea worker from Ispahani Group-owned Neptune Tea Garden, won the award as the best teal leaf plucker of the year for the second consecutive time, says a press release.

At the award giving ceremony, the winners were presented with the awards by Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin. On behalf of Ispahani’s Mirzapore Tea Garden, Emaad Ispahani, director of Ispahani Group, received the award for worker’s welfare.

In recognition of significant contributions to various sectors of the country's tea industry, the “National Tea Award” is presented through a joint initiative of the Ministry of Commerce and the Bangladesh Tea Board.

Wednesday’s event was presided over by Mahbubur Rahman, secretary of the Ministry of Commerce. Also present were Major General Sheikh Md Sarwar Hossain, chairman of the Bangladesh Tea Board; Shah Moinuddin Hasan, chairman of the Tea Traders Association of Bangladesh; and Kamran T Rahman, president of the Bangladesh Tea Parliament. Blender’s Choice The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards kicks off in style

The glitz and glamour of the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) lit up this evening as the much-anticipated third edition of "Blender's Choice The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards 2023" unfolded.

A celebration of excellence in the OTT and digital entertainment sector, the awards aim to honour remarkable achievements in this rapidly growing industry. This year's event, showcasing talent from 2023, brought together an array of stars, influencers, and creators, promising a night to remember. 

The festivities commenced at 4:30pm, with stars walking the red carpet in a festive mood, posing for glamorous shots, and mingling with peers. The venue's Hall of Fame buzzed with excitement as the audience settled in for an evening of celebration.  

The event officially began with the unveiling of the event's logo. A solemn moment followed, with a one-minute silence observed to commemorate the July uprising.

The tone then shifted as the hosts of the evening, Azra Mahmood and Rafsan Shabab, welcomed
Alif and Shahnaz Sumi to the stage. With a stunning dance performance, the team set the stage for a vibrant evening.

Omar Hannan, general manager of Ispahani Group, warmly welcomed the attendees. Mahfuz Anam, editor and publisher of The Daily Star, followed with an inspiring address, stating, "I am truly amazed by the innovative and creative content that offers a fresh, modern perspective on our society. These works go beyond entertainment, providing a unique outlook on life as a whole."

He added, "It is an honour to host this programme with all of you, and on behalf of The Daily Star, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is a great privilege to have you here." 

The awards this year span an impressive 30 categories, split between Critics' and Popular segments. The Critics' segment includes 12 awards, while the Popular segment comprises nine categories. Additionally, five categories each are dedicated to music and individual content, ensuring a comprehensive recognition of talent across the spectrum.  

The event continues to spotlight achievements in the vibrant OTT industry, celebrating the creators and artistes whose work has resonated with audiences and critics alike.  

As the evening unfolds, the audience eagerly anticipates the announcement of winners, performances, and moments that define this celebration of creativity and innovation in digital content.

The country is currently undergoing significant reforms, and the entertainment industry is striving to keep pace with equal enthusiasm. Last year saw a surge in web series, films, and OTT projects that reshaped the landscape of the industry.

"Blender's Choice–The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards" has announced its third edition, set to take place later this year. Presented by Ispahani and The Daily Star, a press conference was held this morning, led by Omar Hannan, general manager of Ispahani Tea Limited, Ajoy Kumar Kundu, CEO of Mediacom Limited, and Imran Kadir, head of Marketing & Sales at The Daily Star.

Hosted by Aisha Khan, the event brought together talented filmmakers and artistes excelling in the OTT space. Ispahani Mirzapore has won the 'Best Hot Beverage Brand (Tea) Award 2023' for the ninth consecutive year.

Along with this, it won the top five in the 'Overall Best Brand' category among all local and multinational brands in the 'Best Brand Award 2023'.

The opening ceremony of the 2nd Bangabandhu International Squash Tournament, organized for the second time under the patronage of Ispahani, was successfully held at Gulshan Club, Dhaka. 

The tournament, organized by Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation, is being held on a larger scale where for the first time the main tournament includes a total of three events including two international competitions with the participation of renowned squash players from home and abroad.

'ইস্পাহানি মির্জাপুর বাংলাবিদ' প্রতিযোগিতায় চূড়ান্ত পর্বে অংশ নেওয়ার সুযোগ পাচ্ছে বরিশাল অঞ্চলের ১০ জন। গত শুক্রবার বরিশাল সরকারি মডেল স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজে দিনব্যাপী অঞ্চল পর্যায়ের প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। ষষ্ঠ থেকে দশম শ্রেণির সহস্রাধিক শিক্ষার্থী মেধাভিত্তিক এ প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেয়। তাদের মধ্যে শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব অর্জনকারী ১০ জন ঢাকায় অনুষ্ঠিত চূড়ান্ত পর্বে অংশ নেবে।

নতুন প্রজন্মের কাছে শুদ্ধ বাংলা, বানান ও ব্যবহার ছড়িয়ে দিতে প্রতিযোগিতাটির আয়োজন করেছে ইস্পাহানি মির্জাপুর। প্রতিযোগিতায় বিচারকের দায়িত্ব পালন করেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ড. শিহাব শাহরিয়ার, অধ্যাপক হোসনা আরা এবং প্রথিতযশা আবৃত্তি শিল্পী মাহিদুল ইসলাম। পরে নির্বাচিতদের হাতে সম্মাননা পুরস্কার তুলে দেন প্রধান অতিথি অধ্যাপক ড. সৌমিত্র শেখর এবং ঢাকা রেসিডেন্সিয়াল মডেল কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল মো. আব্দুল মান্নান ভূঁইয়া।

আমাদের মাতৃভাষা বাংলাকে নিয়ে এত বড় প্রতিযোগিতামূলক অনুষ্ঠান দেশে এটাই প্রথম। ১৫ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০১৭। নগরীর বঙ্গবন্ধু আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলন কেন্দ্রে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় ইস্পাহানি মির্জাপুর চ্যানেল আই বাংলাবিদ প্রতিযোগিতার মহোৎসব। ‘বাংলায় জাগো ভরপুর’ প্রতিপাদ্য নিয়ে ইস্পাহানি মির্জাপুর ও চ্যানেল আই আয়োজন করেছিল বাংলাভাষার শুদ্ধ উচ্চারণ, বানান ও ব্যাকরণের সঠিক ব্যবহার ছড়িয়ে দিতে বাংলা ভাষা বিষয়ক মেধাভিত্তিক টিভি রিয়েলিটি শো ‘ইস্পাহানি মির্জাপুর বাংলাবিদ-২০১৭’। এমন একটি আয়োজনের অপেক্ষায় ছিল সারা বাংলাদেশ। আজকে যখন বাংলা ভাষার যাচ্ছে তাই অবস্থা, নতুন প্রজন্ম যখন বাংলা আর ইংশিল মিলিয়ে বাংলিশ ভাষায় কথা বলছে সেখানে চ্যানেল আই ও ইস্পাহানি মির্জাপুর চা এর এমন আয়োজন সত্যিই গুরুত্বপুর্ণ হয়ে উঠেছে। সবুজ চা বাগান থেকে নীল সমুদ্র, সুন্দরবন, উত্তরের বরেন্দ্রভূমি- সবখানে রক্তি আভা ছড়িয়ে জেগে উঠেছিল একদল তরুণ বাংলা ভাষাকে বুকে লালন করে। নতুন প্রজন্ম এই ভাষাকে সর্বত্র ছড়িয়ে দেয়ার লক্ষ্যে একত্রিত হয়েছিল এমন আয়োজনে। তাই তো সব অপেক্ষা এবং জল্পনা কল্পনার অবসান ঘটিয়ে দেশ পেল একজন ক্ষুদে বাংলাবিদকে। নতুন প্রজন্মের কান্ডারি। যে কি না বাংলা ভাষার জন্য প্রতিযোগিতার সব কঠিন অধ্যায় পার করে বিজয়ীর মুকুটটি ছিনিয়ে নেয়। দেশের বিভিন্ন এলাকা থেকে প্রায় ৩৫ হাজার প্রতিযোগী এ প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেয়। সেখান থেকে প্রতিযোগিতার নানান ধাপ পেরিয়ে সেরা ছয়জনকে নিয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় মহোৎসব আয়োজন।

MM Ispahani Limited and Channel i jointly organised the event to inspire youths to use Bangla language in their everyday activities.

The show started in February with 35,000 participants and on the final day, Susrat Sayem, a student of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, became the winner.

At the event, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor stressed the need for spelling and pronouncing Bangla words correctly.

Terming the style of language used in different dramas improper, he urged everyone to discard such use of language. “Otherwise, the new generation will be confused,” he said.

Faridur Reza Sagor, managing director of Channel i, also spoke.

Dhaka University Bangla Professor Dr Soumitra Shekhar, agriculture development activist Shykh Seraj and eminent actress Suborna Mustafa were the judges.
